Why is measuring flat laid garments better than guessing by size number?

Edited

Because numbered sizing doesn’t exist for most of the apparel brands that we decorate. In retail stores you might see sizes like 2, 4, 6, 8 for women or 28/30 for pants, but in the custom merch world, almost everything is sized Small through XXL+ depending on the brand.

Measuring a garment you already own is a reliable way to get accuracy if you would like to be sure. When you lay a shirt or hoodie flat and measure the chest width and body length, you’re using real, objective measurements, not assumptions or brand-to-brand guesswork. That’s exactly why we include precise measurements in the size chart on every product page and why we recommend comparing those measurements directly to something you already know fits well. Learn how to read and use our sizing charts here on our website.

When you measure instead of guessing, you eliminate almost all sizing issues. No guessing, no surprises, no stress, just a fit you can trust.
