How can I make my DFT prints last longer?

Edited

Proper care makes a big difference. To maximize the lifespan of your DFT prints, always turn garments inside out before washing, use cold water, and choose a gentle cycle. Avoid bleach or harsh detergents that can break down both the garment and the adhesive layer over time.

When drying, hang dry or tumble on low heat. High heat is the biggest threat to the adhesive layer that bonds the transfer to the fabric, it won’t peel it right away, but repeated exposure can gradually weaken the bond and dull the finish. You should also avoid ironing directly over the design, as heat contact can cause glossing or texture changes.

Following these simple steps will help keep your DFT prints looking vibrant and feeling soft for years. Even after dozens of washes, a well-cared-for DFT print will maintain its colour and integrity like a high-quality screen print.
