Can I feel a DFT print on a t-shirt while wearing it?

Edited

DFT (Direct-Film-Transfer) prints have a soft, flexible surface feel that sits lightly ontop of the fabric. They’re significantly thinner and smoother than traditional transfers, so they move naturally with the garment instead of feeling heavy or rigid. When properly applied, it has a clean, satin-like finish that feels premium and professional.

After the first few washes, the print settles even more into the fabric, becoming softer and more natural to the touch. Unlike older heat transfers that peeled, modern DFT maintains its smooth, flexible finish for the lifetime of the garment.

That said, design plays a big role in how the print feels. Just like with screen printing, large, solid-filled designs will naturally feel a bit heavier on the garment surface. We always recommend using negative space or open areas within your artwork to break up those heavy sections. This not only keeps the garment soft and breathable but also makes the print flow better with the fabric’s natural movement. A thoughtfully designed print doesn’t just look better, it feels better too.
