When should I choose DFT over screen printing or embroidery?
DFT is perfect when you need short runs, full colour, or detailed artwork without the time or cost of screen setup. For example, if you’re ordering 3–23 shirts with a full-colour design or gradient, DFT offers top-tier print quality and an efficient turnaround. It’s also ideal for pilot projects, influencer drops, or small-batch merch where flexibility is key. Our minimum order quantity for screen printing begins at 24 units, but even above that mark, for certain designs with gradients or a high level of fine details, DFT can still be a preferred print method.
Compared to screen printing, DFT is faster for smaller quantities and excels at fine detail and photographic imagery. Compared to embroidery, it provides more visual range and a smoother feel, especially for large or colourful logos. In short, screen printing is best for high volumes, embroidery for texture and prestige, and DFT for creativity, colour, and speed
