How large can an embroidery design be?
The ideal embroidery size depends on both the garment and the placement. For hats, designs typically range from 2 to 4 inches wide, and up to about 2 inches tall while for left chest or sleeve placements, they are typically around 3 to 4 inches wide.
Most of the embroidered designs that we produce for our customers are within this size range, but by special request we can embroidery larger areas. Larger embroidery does allow for more visual detail but also increases stitch density and time, which increases the cost of the embroidery.
Our team will review your logo and recommend a balanced size that maintains clarity, comfort, and proportion. Oversized designs can feel stiff or heavy on thinner fabrics, so we always tailor the embroidery scale to suit the product type and intended use.
